Last Friday our school celebrated Matariki with a dawn ceremony, breakfast and a whole day of Matariki activities. Room 21 buddied up with Room 3 to make poi, sing songs about Matariki and create print art.

In the afternoon the whole school gathered together for a special assembly where we shared with each other all the activities we had participated in during the day.

In room 21 we are lucky enough to have the amazing Wendy come to visit us 4 times a week to teach us Mandarin. We have been learning how to introduce people, to ask how people are feeling, what their zodiac animal is, and much more.

Mufti Day

Today Cornwall Park School had a mufti day to raise funds for the New Zealand Blind Foundation who raise and train guide dogs.

We found out that guide dogs start service when they are 2 years old and retire when they are 8 years old. That means that a person who needs a guide dog will need many different guide dogs in their life.

Our school managed to raise over $700 to donate to the NZ Blind Foundation.
