Matariki

Last Friday our school celebrated Matariki with a dawn ceremony, breakfast and a whole day of Matariki activities. Room 21 buddied up with Room 3 to make poi, sing songs about Matariki and create print art.

In the afternoon the whole school gathered together for a special assembly where we shared with each other all the activities we had participated in during the day.

Mufti Day

Today Cornwall Park School had a mufti day to raise funds for the New Zealand Blind Foundation who raise and train guide dogs.

We found out that guide dogs start service when they are 2 years old and retire when they are 8 years old. That means that a person who needs a guide dog will need many different guide dogs in their life.

Our school managed to raise over $700 to donate to the NZ Blind Foundation.
